Our Bathroom Remodeling Services

Five ways we remodel bathrooms in Chicago-area homes. Pick the one that fits your project, or ask us to combine them.

Walk-In Shower & Tub-to-Shower Conversion

Replacing an old tub with a walk-in shower: new drain and valve, waterproofing, tile or panels, a glass door, and a bench or grab bars if needed. A popular upgrade in Chicago bungalows and condos.

Small Bathroom & Powder Room Remodeling

Layouts that make small baths work harder: space-saving vanities, shower niches, better lighting and ventilation. Where it makes sense, we borrow space from a closet to make the room bigger.

Glass Shower & Bathtub Installation

Frameless and framed glass shower doors and enclosures, plus alcove, drop-in and freestanding tubs. Installed level and sealed, with any plumbing changes handled by our team.

Vanity & Countertop Installation

New bathroom vanities, stone or quartz tops, vessel or undermount sinks, faucets, mirrors and lights. We fit, level and connect everything, including moving plumbing when the layout changes.

Master Bathroom Remodeling

Full primary bath remodels: larger showers, double vanities, soaking tubs and new lighting. We handle design, permits, plumbing, electrical and tile from start to finish.

What a Bathroom Remodel in Chicago Actually Involves

A bathroom remodel is not just a cosmetic upgrade. In most Chicago homes — especially bungalows, greystones, and vintage condos — the work behind the walls matters as much as what you see when the job is done.

We start every bathroom project with a thorough look at what is already there. Old plumbing, cast-iron drains, outdated wiring near water sources, and moisture damage behind tile are all common in older Chicago homes. Finding these things early means dealing with them properly, not covering them up and hoping they hold.

Once we know what we are working with, we demo down to the substrate, address anything that needs correcting, and build the new bathroom the right way from the surface back. That is how you get a bathroom that still looks good in ten years — not one that starts showing problems eighteen months after installation.

Materials chosen to last a lifetime.

Porcelain, natural stone, solid-surface vanities and frameless glass — sourced from trusted suppliers and set by craftspeople who treat every grout line as visible.

The Work That Goes Into Every Bathroom We Build

Plumbing

Good plumbing is what holds a bathroom remodel together — literally. We handle all rough-in and finish plumbing in-house, including new shower installations, tub hookups, sink and faucet fitting, and toilet replacement. When a layout change requires moving a drain or supply line, we manage that as part of the project.

Chicago homes built before 1980 often have cast-iron drain pipes and galvanized supply lines. We assess what is there and let you know what needs to be addressed before we close up the walls. A small plumbing correction early in the project is far less disruptive than a leak after the tile is in.

Tile

Tile is the most visible part of most bathroom remodels, and it is also the part that shows poor workmanship the fastest. Uneven lines, grout that cracks within a year, tile that lifts at the edges — these are symptoms of bad substrate prep and rushed installation.

We take the substrate seriously. The surface under the tile has to be flat, dry, and properly waterproofed before a single tile goes down. In wet areas we use waterproofing membranes and spec grout products built for high-moisture environments. Chicago’s humidity swings make this non-negotiable.

Custom Glass and Mirrors

A frameless glass shower enclosure changes the feel of a bathroom more than almost any other single element. It opens the space visually, reads as high-end, and is easier to keep clean than a framed alternative with tracks and seals that collect grime.

We install custom glass shower enclosures, enclosure doors, and large-format mirrors cut to fit your specific dimensions. For bathrooms with non-standard layouts — common in older Chicago homes — custom glass is often the only option that fits correctly. We handle the measurement, ordering, and installation.

Vanity, Sink, and Hardware

We install everything from floating modern vanities to more traditional freestanding units, vessel sinks, undermount sinks, and the full range of faucet styles and finishes. We can work with fixtures you have already selected, or help you choose from suppliers we have used on many projects.

Hardware — towel bars, robe hooks, toilet paper holders, shower fixtures — is installed after tile and paint, so nothing gets damaged during construction. It is a small detail, but it is the kind of thing that separates a clean finish from one that looks like it was done in a hurry.

Types of Bathroom Remodels We Do

Full Gut Remodel

The most common scope for bathrooms that have not been updated in fifteen or twenty years. We demo down to the studs and subfloor, correct anything that needs correcting, and build from scratch — new plumbing, tile, fixtures, and vanity. Typically three to five weeks depending on scope and permits.

Master Bath Renovation

More square footage, more complex layouts, and higher-end fixture selections than a standard hall bath. We handle walk-in shower builds, freestanding tub installations, double vanity configurations, radiant floor heating, and custom lighting — all within a single project scope.

Small Bathroom and Powder Room

Space is limited, and every inch has to be used well. We specialize in making small Chicago bathrooms feel larger through layout optimization, the right tile choices, and smart fixture selection. In some cases we can take space from an adjacent closet to expand a cramped bathroom.

Aging-in-Place Modifications

Walk-in showers with zero-threshold entries, grab bars, comfort-height toilets, and widened doorways for homeowners who need their bathrooms to work safely for many years to come. These modifications do not have to look clinical — done well, they are indistinguishable from a standard remodel.

Bathroom Remodeling Across Chicago and the Suburbs

We remodel bathrooms throughout Chicago and the surrounding area. We work in all types of homes — vintage bungalows and two-flats in the city, condos in Lincoln Park and Wicker Park, and newer suburban construction.

Older Chicago homes require a different approach than newer builds. Plaster walls, cast-iron plumbing, and non-standard layouts are the norm in many city neighborhoods, and we have the experience to work through those conditions without surprises driving up the timeline or the scope.
